This is a fantastic opportunity to join an independent branding agency with great brand strategy and experience design at it's core.

The role of CD is well-formed and established as the incumbent has done an awesome job in the past few years. The precedent has been set and there's no resistance or meddling: the founders of the agency are 100% embracing of the role and believe in autonomy and empowering the individual. 

We are looking for someone interested in, and with experience,  leading a design team and inspiring them to create the best brand design work.  This is a hands-off role, no design required. It's more about working with the client and strategy team and the UX lead to make sure the right direction is agreed and then briefing the team to create the best solutions and overseeing the work (and presenting brilliantly!).

Being smart, articulate and knowledgeable about the potential in corporate clients and an advocate of great  B2B branding work is essential. The agency have started to do some consumer work (a consumer bank for example) but typically the work involves re-branding large businesses from scratch following a merger and acquisition or similar. Understanding the business sector and how to communicate the new brand to the stakeholders, investors, the customers and the employees is all part of the work they do.

To be right for the role, the CD must have experience of 'shuffling deckchairs' and working across multiple clients so, if you are currently working 'clientside' as a CD for a brand,  previous design agency experience is a must.

This role is for someone who wants a seat at the table, a say in shaping the agency, it's processes, the client focus, pitching and workflow. Someone with great client skills who is brave and confident in their specialist knowledge of brand. 

$200K + profit share (likely to be $20-30K + based on 2021)

This role is New-York based and will likely be hybrid working -  3 days in the studio (5th Avenue area) and 2 days from home. Being New York based and eligible to work in the US is mandatory.

• Help shape the strategic response and inspire compelling conceptual solutions that push past the brief and clients’ expectations
• Mentor the next generation of great design talent, and help grow the team and their skills
• Collaborate with team members outside of design to create jaw-dropping design concepts that work across media and markets to push clients’ business forward
• Supervise and contribute to the development and implementation of design solutions everywhere a brand is experienced—not just print, but web, video, events, and beyond
• Manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines without skipping a beat
• Contribute to our entrepreneurial culture of collective learning, sharing your ideas and
receiving real-time professional development
• Develop influential and consultative relationships with clients and prospects
