As Director of Policy and Advocacy, it is essential that you have a solid understanding of agency processes and how to structure teams for client workloads, there will be a large emphasis on team building and people management.
  
You will run and work on some of the agency's largest flagship accounts, managing the client, people, and lead on policy and advocacy insights and strategic direction, helping clients to communicate with political and regulatory audiences. You will be working with a talented and accomplished team of people who are specialists in this sector who are hungry to grow and develop their careers, it is pivotal you have experience managing people and coaching/mentoring them to reach their potential.
  
You will be working with major global clients across a variety of sectors with complex issues and requirements. You will need to be proactive, creative, and detail-driven with a strong and in-depth knowledge of the political and policy landscape, ideally within tech policy, economic policy, and regulation.
  
Responsibilities
  • Leading some of our large brand retainers for massive household brands
  • Driving new business across the portfolio, identifying growth opportunities, and taking an active role in marketing activities
  • Providing senior counsel and strategic advice to clients
  • Leading in the development of creative public affairs strategies for diverse clients and issues, ensuring their successful delivery
  • Orchestrating and driving large and complex pieces of client work
  • Demonstrate expertise in the UK political and policy landscape
  
Skills required
  • Agency background at a senior level or a mix of in-house and recent relevant agency experience is equally beneficial.
  • Proven background in managing and structuring teams of people and their workloads.
  • Have a passion for coaching and mentoring people to enhance and develop their careers.
  • Have a solid knowledge base of Policy and Advocacy and have previously worked on complex issues for a large household brand.
  • Have a broad consumer brand and corporate communications background to be able to build well-rounded, holistic, and/or targeted campaigns for your clients.

This role offers hybrid working; however you will be expected to be in with the team when necessary and the offices are based in a busy agency hub of London, most people at this agency are in between 2 to 3 days a week and the rest from home, therefore you will need to be UK based and eligible to work in the UK without the need for company sponsorship.
