Our client is an integrated marketing agency based in SW London. The team work with interesting and varied clients and are a great bunch of people to work with. We are working together to find a great junior developer (or recent mid-weight), who has passion for accuracy and technological excellence.
Your bread and butter will have been making web sites and making them well. And experience in app development would be an advantage. Reporting to a tech lead and working closely with designers you will need to be a good team player. He or she needs to be able to adapt quickly, as new projects are constantly coming in. Energy and enthusiasm for variety is important!
To be right for the role you will have:
A UK passport or visa that means you are eligible to work in a permanent role
Good knowledge of HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery, Babel, SASS, Bootstrap
Experience responsive and adaptive sites
GIT
Strong understanding of cross-browser coding
Ability to accurately convert designs into semantic front-end code
Ability to partner with back-end developers to architect and build sites
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Detail oriented
Nice to Have
Experience with JS Framework (ie. React/Angular/Vue/or similar)
Wordpress/Drupal
PHP, MySQL
Day-to-day:
Writing code in one or more programming or scripting languages, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP;
Planning and prototyping new applications;
Designing the architecture of the components of an application
Deciding on the best technologies and languages for the project;
Testing sites and applications in different browsers and environments
Fixing bugs in existing projects;
Testing new features thoroughly to ensure they perform the correct task in all cases;
Reviewing colleagues' code;
Building and testing Application Program Interfaces (APIs) for applications to exchange data
Additional Info
We would like you to also have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems (CMS) such as Drupal and WordPress, as well as software programs like the Adobe Creative Suite.
Because front-end web developers are responsible for interpreting and executing designs correctly, you must be able to effectively communicate with the creative team and clients. Other vital soft skills in the front-end web developer job description include the ability to solve problems and adapt quickly to new web-design and application trends.
If you have 2-5 years' agency experience developing websites and apps for a range of clients I would love to see your CV and folio of projects. Must be eligible to work in the UK without company sponsorship.
