Head of Engineering

About the Role:


As the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading our engineering team and driving the development of our technology platform. You will work closely with the product.
team to define and execute the product roadmap, and with the leadership team to ensure alignment with the company’s overall strategy. You will also be responsible for establishing engineering best practices and building a high-performing engineering culture.



Responsibilities:


• Lead and manage the engineering team, including hiring, coaching, and mentoring
team members
• Collaborate with the product team to define and execute the product roadmap
• Establish and maintain engineering best practices, including coding standards,
testing, and deployment
• Drive technical decision-making and ensure the team is using the latest and most
appropriate technologies
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our technology platform
• Manage technical debt and ensure the team is continuously improving the codebase
• Work closely with the leadership team to align engineering efforts with the
company's overall strategy
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering
team
About You:



Experience:


• Proven experience in owning roadmaps in service of one or more engineering teams
through cross functional collaboration with product teams
• Proven Experience leading and managing a team of software engineers
• Strong technical background in web and mobile technologies
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively
with cross-functional teams
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and within
budget
• Deep understanding of the latest development practices, architectural thinking and
cloud technologies (Azure, GCP, AWS)
• Ability to audit and deploy code, and set up proper processes for other people to do
this with utmost cybersecurity
• Experience in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery
• Proficiency in HTML / CSS / JS / PHP / SQL / PYTHON
