Senior Cloud Engineer

DMCG Global has partnered with an exciting start-up poised and well positioned to be a leading disrupter in the property space. With the recent release to market of the MVP, a Senior Cloud Engineer to help scale the performance. 
 

Scope
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for enabling the deployments and optimisation of our cloud environments. Working within the Engineering team to delivery quality, stable and highly available applications for our users.
 
We are looking to you, for cloud infrastructure improvements and cost mitigations when delivering on our product roadmap. Working with short feedback loops, we will test, release and measure at a fast pace.
 
You are an advocate for security first and foremost and enjoy working towards an automated, infrastructure as code platform. To summarise we expect you to be able to:
 

• Participate in project estimation, workshops and stakeholder meetings
• Work autonomously as part of small, focused teams
• Responsible for the monitoring, performance, reliability and quality of our cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on security
• Work with the Engineering team to build continuous integration pipelines
• Implement infrastructure as code, in line with a “right size” and cost optimisation plan
• Document work using industry tools
• Proactively supporting production environments
• Maintain high availability and scalability of platform to better serve our users
• Assist with the root cause analysis of issues and complex problems across the platform
• Support the Engineering team with repeatable processes, releases and a focus toward automation

 
Experience
Experience working in a startup or building a platform from concept-to-completion will be highly regarded.
 

• Previous experience working as a Cloud/DevOps Engineer with a strong development background
• A deep understanding of software development, containerisation and orchestration for secure, highly available/scalable cloud environments
• Expertise across different languages/technologies including, Node.js, Docker and Kubernetes
• A very strong working knowledge of the AWS platform (EC2, EKS, Lambda, s3, RDS, Aurora, etc)
• Previous experience leveraging databases such as PostgreSQL with connectivity via APIs and web services
• Knowledge and experience in system architecture and microservice design patterns
• Experience in automation and all things DEVX/CI/CD, an advocate for infrastructure as code
• Knowledge and experience with Keycloak or other IAM solutions (OpenID Connect, OAuth2)
