We are looking for a Social Media Director, who lives and breathes all things Social. This role would suit someone who will proudly and passionately own Social within an agency team. This role is within a Tier 1 full service agency.


General Responsibilities
:

  • The Social Media Director oversees social media strategy, contact planning and media buying for our clients. The Social Media Director leads, manages and mentors the team members. This role will work closely with all team leads (Account Directors, Strategy, Creative, Production) to drive the holistic business forward and foster growth, both organically and through new business. The Social Media Director will work directly with the team to guide development of social strategy.
  • You should be a skilled and passionate social / digital / content professional, able to spot opportunities for social from broader briefs and relish the chance to turn evergreen, always-on content into something more impactful for our client’s business.
  • Whilst we are looking for someone with a solid social media background, a combination of agency experience will be highly regarded.
  • As social becomes increasingly a pay-to-play platform we need someone who understands how to get our content out there and what formats work best for different kinds of communication.
  • You should have experience in client-facing project management and be able to demonstrate how you have managed the organisation and running of social campaigns end-to-end, both autonomously and whilst working within a broader team.
  • This is a highly client facing role, communicating with them daily, so we will be looking for solid client servicing experience and presentation skills.
  • You will take charge of Community Management for our client. We are looking for someone who has managed this natively but is also familiar with community management software packages.
  • This role involves calendar management, strong knowledge of all social media platforms, project management of content production (e.g. managing shoots or animation) and some content creation, working closely with our Creative team as well as ongoing content optimisation and reporting on analytics.
  • Lead forward thinking social ideas for client, ensuring team is incorporating creativity and innovation into media plan development
  • Document and proposal preparation – crafting and writing these documents to a high standard
  • Facilitate the development and documentation of best practices to improve operational efficiencies within the team and the group
  • Ensure initiatives are executed and managed in a manner that meets and exceeds expectations and delivers against client objectives
  • Uncover opportunities and grow business through thought leadership, and client expertise and consistent delivery of good work.
  • Participate in team planning sessions regarding client strategy and approach, providing leadership, consultation and acting as a voice for media
  • Steward client interest in the areas of tracking and delivering measurable results and analytics, market knowledge, and audience insights
  • Establish and grow relationships with senior media clients, as well as be a key agency contacts and internal agency partners
  • Stay apprised of new technologies and trends and a keen understanding of social landscape to incorporate into media driven solutions and business building ideas
  • Manage and oversee monthly and end of campaign client billing, media budget reconciliations
  • Manage and mentor a team of junior team members 
  • Provide leadership/motivation and convey the vision and values of the agency to media staff
  • Assure that the Social Media team members adheres to established agency policies/procedures
  • Conduct reviews and performance evaluations of the Social Media team to ensure that effective, efficient and profitable staff operations are maintained.
  • Manage workflow, efficient and profitable servicing of client(s), team member levels, fosters healthy team structure, team assignments
  • Assist in new business efforts as needed
  • Maintain excellent external professional relationships with media publishers and partners
  
About you: 
  
  • 5+ years of experience in Social Media, and Digital experience preferred
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational abilities, ability to troubleshoot and provide feedback, guidance and solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Accountability and flexibility
  • Direct supervisory experience
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to tactfully communicate position on relevant issues

This role is based in the Brisbane office of a full service agency. The role is 3 days in the office, and 2 days WFH.
