“Neurodiversity may be every bit as crucial for the human race as biodiversity is for life in general." - Harvey Blume

Yesterday we took part in a virtual workshop with Lucy Hobbs, Senior Creative and Founder of The Future is ND.

We discussed neurodiversity – defining what it means, understanding the challenges, and most importantly looking at the amazing strengths, creativity, and originality of the neurodivergent brain.

The vital skills that neurodivergent thinkers bring to the workplace solidify the competitive advantage that any company embracing different thinking will have.

Yet, we learned only 10% of organizations factor neurodiversity into their HR policies. We wanted to understand how to address this ourselves as part of the hiring process.

"Creative, Data Science and Account Management departments as well as Senior Leadership are 20-30% neurodivergent"- Creative Equals

We took away many interesting tips and could have chatted to Lucy all day! As a member of our team at DMCG put it - “It was really interesting, insightful and gives you a lot to think about. I really benefited from it.”

We need to think differently about the traditional, non-innovative approaches to interviewing and hiring talent.

With a shift in the world around us what better time can there be to finally embrace positive change?
